I want to start fasting one day a week, I am not doing this to lose weight. I have heard people say to only drink water, warm lemon water, apple cider vinegar, etc. What is the best thing to drink when doing this. Also, should I still take my vitamins when fasting.

  1. You should do some research online and read for yourself as to what to drink. Don't just go off what people on here tell you. Also doing this fast one day a week really has no affect. The fasts are meant to be done for whatever time it says to have any affect at all.


  2. Fasting is a cheat on living a healthy lifestyle. But if you're going to do it, sure, you can live for a month on just water, but what people don't realise is that we need protein and carbohydrates to function, when we begin to starve (which is exactly what will happen after drinking only water for a month), your body attacks your strongest muscle first for nutrients. Any idea what that muscle is? Your heart. Why do you think people with eating disorders usually die of heart attacks or cause permanent damage to their hearts?

    Back to what to drink while fasting...The absolute best thing is water with honey, lemon and a little cayenne pepper. But again, do some research, and I suggest something a little more reliable than an interet search.

  3. There are many different types of fasts and many ways to detoxify your body that need not include fasting. I would definitely do some research and see what works best for you based on your lifestyle and physical condition.

    In the meantime to begin changing to a less toxic lifestyle is also a good idea. Eat lots of raw veggies and some cooked, lots of whole grains, some fresh fruit. Limit sugar, animal products and refined flours. Drink lots of water and some tea, limit alcohol, cigarettes, prescription and non-prescription drugs.

    This will make your fasting or cleanse easier if you have prepared a cleaner body to begin and after the fast or cleanse it will create less of a shock when you resume your normal habits if you develop cleaner normal habits.

  4. hi! i am currently in my fourth week of fasting (today is my 17 th day ) and i have read a lot of info from websites

    for the most effective cleansing of the body, water is the absolute best thing and if need be, maybe add a tea bag but nothin else..

    just want to add, that the changes both physical and mental are incredible, u have no idea how much ur body appreciates a break from digesting food, to heal cleanse and restore proper health structure  good luck!
