who your favorite race horse and why?

Ruffian all the way.  I like a good courageous filly.  She was amazing.  She was effortlessly fast and she had the will to win.  In her 2 year old year, she ran one of her races with a splint...  meaning she didn't feel her best...  another filly actually came up beside her...  it was the first time Ruffian had ever been challenged.  And despite not feeling 100%, Ruffian surged ahead, ran the 6 furlongs in 1:09, and set the stakes record.  She just refused to be beaten.  She would have run the last quarter mile of the match race on her bloody stump if Jacinto had let her.  All she cared about was winning.  I'm always fascinated by a horse who actually knows what's going on...  Ruffian understood that racing was a game and she was always proud that she was so good at it.

I just loved Barbaro. I am still heartbroken over his injury and subsequent struggle resulting in death. I really think he could have been a Triple Crown winner. It is such a shame that he never got to show that to the world. I'll never forget the way he romped home in the Derby with his jockey never once using a whip during the entire race. It is clear Barbaro had some extra gears we never got to see!

My favorite racehorse is Street Sense. He's so good! He's won a lot of races.

Apache Cat!

Mainly because he's got funny markings. Half his head is white, and he has four white socks. People often describe him as having stepped in white paint and having it poured over his head. (chestnut, 16.1hh)

Not to say that he's a c**p horse, Group1 winner and winner/placer or many Listed Stakes. Recently knocked over Australia's most valuable racehorse (estimated value of Haradasun is $45mill-$62mill). He's a speed horse, but can sit behind the leaders, depends how he jumps. Everyone knows who he is when they see his white blinkers in the mounting yard.

Very tolerant gelding is Apache. Loves a photo. Poses and shows his white side.  I have many pics of this wonderful bloke.

Holy Bull, he was amazing on the race track and he's fathered a lot of great babies since his retirement.

I loved Secretariat and Seabiscuit! Secretariat was an amazing animal with power and speed! Seabiscuit was the underdog in his first few races but then came out to be a true champion! Whirlaway was a great horse! My current favorite racehorse (2007) is of course Street Sense! He won the Kentucky Derby from 19th place! A heartbreaking loss in the Preakness but came back strong in the Jim Dandy at Saratoga!

Oh I have several, but by far it would be Seattle Slew.

I was at Belmont Park when he won his Triple Crown with my Daddy.  That will always be a special memory.

I remember where I was, when I watched Secretariat win his triple crown.  He was a great horse and still after all these years holds the Kentucky Derby and Churchill Downs record.
