Feb 29, 2000?

Is Feb 29, 2000 a special day? I was told it was a special day and that it is not quite like the other 29s of Feb in other leap years.

What is so special about that day? Wasn't it just another day of a leap year?

Dont know about Feb 29 2000 specifically but I did have great fun winding up all the students at school by telling them they had to do an extra day at school because the 29th fell on a Friday.  I only mentioned this two two classes on of year 8s and one of year 9s by the end of the day the whole student body was moaning about their 'extra day' at school.

You may be referring to the ambiguity of the first years of centuries.  "Years which are evenly divisible by 100 are not leap years, unless they are also evenly divisible by 400."

For example, 1600, 2000, 2400 and 2800 are leap years, but 1700,1800,1900, 2100, 2200 and 2300 are not.

The thing is that it takes 1 whole leap year to circle around the sun. And if your b-day is in feb 29, your birthday comes every 4years. My friends b-day was in feb 29, when i was 8 she was 2. we were born in same year!!
