Febrile seizures?

My daughter had her first febrile seizure over the weekend and I just wanted to ask a couple questions..

- How old was your child when they had their first febrile seizure?

- Have they had more then one? How many?

- How old are they now or how old were they when they had them?

My child does not have them....but a very close friend's child does.  Her daughter had her first one when she was just over a year (13 months, maybe).  She had a total of three before she outgrew them.  She had one at 19 months and one at just over three.  Now the girl is 13 years old and no worse for the wear.  It is certainly scary to watch, but thankfully the children do not remember a thing and they are fairly harmless.  Good luck.  I hope your daughter outgrows them soon.

Thomas was 7 when he had one

He had it when he contracted measles

He is 10 now x

Edit ..Thomas's twin sister whom he is pictured with left has never had any thing like it before, Thomas also has autism and non verbal and because he couldn't tell us what was wrong we felt so guilty when the ambulance came to him and asked us what was wrong we just had to be truthful and say we didn't know ..then a few days after the measles came out

My son had his first febrile seizure when he was 4 years of age.  He never had more than the one.  He's now 10 years old and hasn't ever had another seizure...Lord's willing, he never will.  His brother, 7 years old, hasn't ever had a seizure...again, Lord's willing!

I have seizures and had my first seizure when I was 21 years old.  I've only had 5 my entire life.  I'm now 33 and haven't had a seizure in about 7 years.  My brothers have seizures and so does my father.  My mother and sister haven't ever had a seizure.  We've learned that ours are brought on by high fever and when we lose our temper.  I also had one as a result of an allergic reaction to Dove soap.  My brothers have had seizures after seeing lots of blood.  Many different instances throughout our lives have brought them on.  My daddy hasn't had a seizure since I was 18 and my brothers haven't had seizures since they were teens.  We're now 59 (Daddy), 33, 32, and 22.  Daddy had his first seizure when he was 34.  My oldest brother had his first seizure when he was 6 or 7.  My baby brother had his first seizure when he was 5.

I just remembered that my hubby had seizures when he was a young boy.  I think he said they started when he was very young, say around 5, and continued until he was around 8. He has two siblings and neither of them ever seized, nor did his parents or any of their siblings, as far as he knows.  My nephew, oldest brother's son, also had a couple about a year ago.  He had around 3 episodes, but hasn't had any reoccurences.  He's now 9 years old.
