Feed back in my boat speakers?

I have engine noise in my boat speakers with the boat is running. how do I fix this problem?

  1. i had this problem also, make sure you have good grounding to the unit or maybe your ground wire is not big enough


  2. If Capt Bill's solution doesn't work, you will have to add a noise suppression kit to your ignition system.  They are available at your local auto supply shop or Radio Shack.

  3. It's not really feedback, what you're hearing is alternator whine.

    Try grounding the stereo directy to the negative terminal of the battery using 14 ga cable and your power supply cable a shielded one from your breaker panel. Sometimes this will eliminate the problem, failing that you'll have to go with a noise supression choke to your stereo.
