Hi everyone, me and some friends are planning on taking some food out to the homeless in the streets of manchester. We are going to be giving out things such as sandwhiches and fruit (as we dont have the facilities to transport hot soups etc around) I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of other foods that would be appropriate for us to take? Thanks for your help :)

  1. That's wonderful.  My husband and I are gearing up to do something similar in St. Petersburg, Fl.  We were going to fill either backpacks or paper bags with toiletries and other essentials, as well as food.  As for food, we were thinking things like PB&J sandwiches, bags of chips, fruit cups, granola bars, bags of candy, etc.  Like the lady above me said, non-perishable food items.   Good luck and keep doing great things!!

  2. How sweet.  Hot dogs, pizza, and they dont need it but everyone likes sweets.

  3. string cheese individually wrapped, raisins come in little boxes you could even put cereal in little zip lock bags they would love it. i know because i've been helping homeless children a little for over a decade now if you are in the los angeles area manchester give a ring 323-208-1992. They love carrots and apples for some reason. and if you just show them a smile that would do wonders. god bless keep up the good work we need more people like you and your friends. thanks

  4. I would offer non perishable food like beef jerky, crackers, fruit snacks and stuff that would last them a couple of days. Hope it helps.
