Female Police Officer? ?

Question

I'm 5'6 and 128 pounds. Female obviously. I live in Manitoba and I want to become a cop. I can't seem to find a site telling me what I need to go throught o become one. Can someone help me. Will it be hard for me to get in? I'm also Metis and you have an advantage to getting in when you are. Thanks.

I was an explorer for 6 years, it gave me a lot of experience and knowledge regarding law enforcement. I strongly recommendd you look into that option, its a huge foot in the door and you can meet and get advice from female officers. Good luck

Okay, sanandreas has a good idea, join the explorer program if your jurisdiction has one.  

Apply when you are 20 years old.  It takes about a year to go through everything needed to be hired as an officer.  In the mean time, stay out of trouble.  Your height and weight are fine, get physically active, work out, sit ups, push ups, pull ups, run.  Study hard, take college courses when you finish high school.

I have just the solution to this.  Provided that you are 17 years old, I feel that this would be perfect for you.  There is a thing called the Explorer Program.  I'm an explorer btw.  A Law Enforcement explorer is an organized group of young people (14-21) that are interested in law enforcement.  I'm a Sergeant with my local Sheriff's Office.  An explorer usually wears a uniform provided to them by the dept.  For example, I am issued a uniform, I'm issued a badge, with a duty belt containing handcuffs, medical gloves, flashlight, and a Motorola HT750 Radio. We do training involving all the thing Law Enforcement officers do.  We work concerts, traffic details, the county fair, and do patrol with the deputies.  We are also required to put in so many hours in the Dispatch communications center, as we are at the county jail.  The explorers a growing rapidly through out the united states.  If you would like more information on the explorers, contact me via email at [e-mail] and I will help get you setup with your local dept.

And you have to go through a POST course. Go into your local police ro sheriffs page and look up under employment or career opprtunities. Alot of the times they will onyl accept you if you are 21 years old or oldr
