Female executioners ?

i think its the only job wich women were never allowed to do,iwonder why..i`ve looked back in history records,but all executioners were male,is it beacuse women cannot cover such job as it would be agaist their nature or because would be too humiliating for a convict,especially if male to be executed by a woman?

I'd say that it was probably the first reason more than the second but I really have no idea.  There's other jobs that women can't do, such as serve in the front lines of the army.  The reason for that is that when men are captured by the enemy they usually aren't raped but if women were captured, every single one of them would get raped.  That's ones of the reasons anyway, I know there's others too.
