Ferrari driver, Fernando Alonso shakes off all the disappointments of 2010 and gets ready for another great season of his career. The Spanish driver refused to keep dwelling on the distress and frustration felt last season and
instead insists his team stay focused on preparations for next season’s car.
Alonso believes that despite having missed the title, the 2010 season was not a complete failure for the Italian team. He looks distantly on the failures calling them a part of the sport while gives a closer look at every little
triumph, believing it to be a good omen for the coming years. While talking to reporters earlier this week he said that the season was a tough and enjoyable one and he had learnt several useful lessons, which will help him in the future.
Over the years, Alonso has managed to make a very strong reputation for himself as a driver. There had been many instances where his unmatched and mastered driving skills have bewildered his competitors and have also exhilarated
his fans. Just five days following the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the two times World Champion was once again out on the track, cruising through the Yas Marina circuit.  A two day test was held last Friday and Saturday for the new Pirelli tyres which are replacing
Bridgestone from the season opener in Bahrain next year. Saturday’s session once again saw Alonso dominate the track as he marked the fastest lap of the day followed by Sebastian Vettel, who deprived the driver from bagging his third Championship.
As the Formula One caravan entered the Abu Dhabi grand prix earlier this month Alonso stood at the top of the Driver’s tally whereas, Vettel occupied third place in the charts and was only 11 points short of the lead. However,
by the end of the day Alonso was the unlucky man who ended up in 7th place. The respective finishes gave Vettel the Championship and Red Bull its second crown.
While talking to the media, Alonso said that it is very normal for the entire Ferrari squad to feel down and disappointed but at the end of the day winning and losing and happy and sad moments are all part of the sport. “I would
think it’s the same thing the Dutch football players felt when they lost the World Cup final back in July: then, after a few weeks, they realised they had achieved something, while so many others had not even got anywhere close. The same goes for us: the final
victory eluded us, but in any case we had a great season, with a fantastic fight back in the second part of the year.”
He further added that this loss by no means makes him or his team disheartened. On the other hand this is only a lesson for them that would make them work even harder next year.
While turning all his focus towards a better 2011 season he said, “Next year we will try again, because we are Ferrari!”
The Ferrari team is ready to come back next season with more force and determination. The driver as well as the entire team is looking forward for a better car ahead. This year they have seen a lulled midseason and only entered
the battle field as a strong competitor after the German Grand Prix.
Now with the same drivers’ line up, Alonso and Felipe Massa, the team hopes to stay at the top, right from the very beginning of the 2011 season.
