Ferret owners out there???

Question

okay...I just took a job at my local petsupermarket...and I put a ferret on hold....I fell in LOVE with this ferret....I've always wanted one...but this one seems like she's made for me!!

My parents told me they were so proud of me for doing this job and working hard at it and being responsible...so is there any way I can convince them to let me take this ferret home by using the "but im very responsible now" thing on them?

I just want you guys to give me some advice on how to convince my parents...and also some ferret care tips...

I was curious if I could have my ferret cage outside on my porch [i live in vero beach, FL] as long as I have plenty of shady areas for her...

obviously in bad weather id bring her inside...

just tell me EVERYTHING I need to know...

I have 8 ferrets on my own and I think you have a lot more you need to know about them before bring one home...Please read up on them!

Ferrets can be fun animals but high maintenance.  If you don't train it to it's dirt box right to begin with it will pick up nasty habits and it's potty stinks!

They do escape.  Not nice for you or your pet.

Also, realize that many pet store pets are not real healthy. Ferrets must see special vets, not just any vet.  The costs can be  high. Ferrets get problems just like a cat or dog. Ear problems from mites from pet stores is a real problem.

They are also independent.  Don't expect it to come when you call it.  

Be sure to really look into this, you might be sorry if you jump too soon.
