Ferry for only child?

My 12 year old son would like to visit his aunt in The Netherlands.

I have tried to get a ferry for him but cant find one that will take an unaccompanied child.

Does anyone know a ferry company to The Netherlands that will take him?

try getting him on a plane instead.

my mum used to fly me to my dads from the age of 8 and they had no problems taking me on my own.

I wouldn't let him go unaccompanied. Just consider how many child crimes are there in this miserable world! In any case, by plane he could  be accompanied to the outgoing gate by a stewardess of the company where could wait for him his aunt.
