  1. unless you have a chicken coop or barn or somthing, ducks can fly you would need to have there wings cliped which is inhumane.

  2. well they way to do this is hatch all of them and pick the one u want. then sell the rest becaus chickens do sell for alot of money. so by the dozen <3

  3. You can post an add for eggs to hatch or you can go to a local person to get a egg from them.Duck eggs take 23-34 days to hatch depending on what breed you are wanting.I have white Pekings and they cant fly, they are to heavy. They are also a very hardy breed and will forage on their own. They make great mothers and make great pets as well. They will reach adult size at 8 weeks of age and can breed the following spring. If you chose this breed of duck they will need a pool of water that they can get in and out of.I also live in Fl.

I live In  live oak. If you are close enough I will give you some chicken eggs. Please remember if you choose any flying duck breed they will have to be pinioned(they take the very tip of the wing off at hatching)and you will have to obtain a Fl license to poses. For this check with our fish and game commission in Tallahassee Fl.They also will come up if you do a computer search. They license cost $50 per year.

  4. check a local farm... even in the city a farm is always near by.

  5. You don't want to hatch just one... there's always the chance that the egg isn't viable and you're wasting your time (and electricity).  Also, if the bird does hatch, it's going to be alone.  Ducks and chickens do so much better in pairs or trios because they are social animals.

Most people won't even consider starting an incubator without at least 6-10 eggs in it.  If you hatch more than you want, you can always sell or give away the extras.

You're going to want to look for a local farm or 4-H family that has poultry, and the county fairs are all going on right now - so that's going to be a great place to meet someone who might have some fertilized eggs to sell.

If you order through egg-bay or companies that ship fertilized eggs, then you would have to purchase in quantity.  Most people who buy through those sources are looking to add to a flock and usually have to order 25 or more.

  6. you better be prepared to take care of it, remember that a little chick is adorable but to you it may become not-so-adorable when it is older sp regardless you have to take care of it. try going to a farm or something.
