Fever plus bump on knee

Question

two days ago my sister came home from next door with a bump on her knee that was red and a fever, and my mom wanted to wait and see if her fever would go down and today, she just looked at my sisters thing again, and its purple. I asked her why she hasnt teken her to a doctor yet and shes all like " i wanted to see if her fever would go down, and it has" but ya, im not there, im on vaca like 7 hours away visiting one of my aunts, and i dont even live there

what would it be?

It sounds like she has an infection in her knee. I would clean it out with peroxide and put an antibiotic ointment on it and it should be okay. If it isn't better in a couple days, or if fever or redness returns she should take her to the doctor right away for treatment.

Well, I would have her to the doctor right away.. Staph or mrsa infection can get into the knee joint, seen it 3 times this year. the fever would indicate infection ---antibiotics are in order for sure!
