Will the Fi Q 18 hit fast? And would it perform faster in a ported or sealed? (like double bass notes) Would it get all sloppy? Would I be better off getting a 10 or 12 or even 15 inch? I dont want two because I dont want to do electrical upgrades.

  1. I know quite a bit about audio and I'm not sure what you mean by "hit fast."  It can only "hit" as fast as the music is recorded to hit.  If you're talking about one sub being a tad more responsive over another, you'll have to analyze the T/S parameter of that sub compared to others to see which has a tighter suspension, higher force factor, etc., depending on what it is you're looking for.

Again, the speed at which a sub performs is really based on characteristics of the sub itself first, enclosure may help a bit, but the sub itself if your best starting point.  You'll also need lots of power to better control the sub.  Too little power while you're cranking your stereo will cause a lot of clipping which will sound terrible and eventually ruin your sub.

If you're not looking to upgrade your electrical system, that has nothing to do with what sub you choose or the box you put it in.  That will be determined by the size of the amplifier you buy.  Since you know going in that you don't want to upgrade your electrical system, you should be shopping for an amplifier that puts out no more then 600 watts.  Then, build your sub system around that.  Find a sub that is more efficient so you can get the most out of your 600 watts.  10, 12 or 15 inch, doesn't really matter.
