Fiberglass or aluminum???? Boat

Which one will make a better boat in the long run? Why do you perfer it?

Yes.

They both have their pros and cons.

Alum is lighter-

Needs less power

less maintenance

rougher ride in rough water

Fiberglass is heavier-

needs more power

will ride better in rough water

needs more maintenance to keep up appearance

It all depends on the size boat and what you will be using it for.

Crappie and Bass fishing, Alum is great

Offshore fishing, fiberglass is best.

Fiberglass is easier to repair yourself. I would rather have a fiberglass boat because it is easier to patch, aluminum you would need to be a good welder.
