Okay so i have riedell blue ribbons size 8 1/2 (my shoe size). I have wore them about 10 different times and they hurt when im on ice but they dont when im setting out. Whats the deal? I only go around the top 2 hooks also. When im lacing them i pull them tight around ankle when i go up around the hooks i dont do it as tight. there are a lil bit big i believe because i try to walk in them and they feel wobbly. every one else i see dont wobble on there ice skates when they are off ice...could my feet be to wide for riedells but they are not long enough to fill up the space...idk HELP!

  1. Huh, what level are you? maybe they are not the right level skate for you! Nothing works for me, all skates hurt me! HeHe! Ridel is all that works! You know the best ones! But Im working on double axel! Well try Jackson, they really work for my sis, and they sound right for your foot type!

  2. Riedell size and shoe size is VERY different. I think, like you say, you skates are too big. You might want to go to your pro-shop where they can measure your foot and find the right skate size for you.

Also, another reason why they probable hurt is because you're breaking them in. It takes about ten weeks for you to break skates in.

    Hope I helped.

  3. there are 2 solutions I can think of to this problem.

1: How long have you had your skates? This could be the problem, for when you have new skates, it takes from 1-2 months for them to break in, skating around 5 hours a week I believe. After they break in, you're okay. One way to get them to break in better is to wear them around the house. I had skates for a while then they got old, and now I got new ones a few days ago, still trynna get them to break in.

2: Go to a professonal fitter. I have wide feet, too, but I don't think thats it... anyway, they'll fit your feet and tell you what size you need. You may need a special type. You can even try payless fitters, whatever just some place which has a good skates collection. You can even try your local skating rink. When your walking off ice, try not to be too conscious that you're wearing skates, just try to be more balanced (try not to lean too much on the sides or insides of your feet, yada yada yada). Hope I helped!
