Question:

Final rounds at the masters?

Why generally do players do worse on the final round at the masters than any other round? Would it be the pin placement? Maybe it is just the pressure? Or maybe it was just the high winds?

What about the final round at the Masters makes the scores so much higher than any of the other rounds?

  1. The 3 reasons you stated, pretty much sum it up nicely....

  2. Well, particularly today, it was the high winds.

But, generally speaking, no other tournament in golf will you find more pressure and tenseness than at The Masters.

The course is extremely challenging...set up right on the edge...so that pin-point accuracy is so important.  And recovery shots are exceedingly challenging.

Add to that the fact that no other tournament in golf is more anticipated, talked about, analyzed and viewed, worldwide.

  3. better players get more pressure becuz they r mainly expected to exceed above others, while the--"not-as-good" players get less becuase they kno that they were good enough to get into the final round and hav less stress

    well--its the FINAL round

    duh
