the world is full of fully functional glastron tri-hulls with 70's vintage johnnyrude v-4's or triples on roadworthy trailers for under $2000.  parts are plentiful and cheap, and any pickup truck will tow the heck out of it.

if you want something cheap that goes fast and is fun get an older pwc in good shape, or if you want to bring more than one person with you a small jet boat like a sea doo speedster
