Tomorrow i have to get a suppository (medical procedure..2 of them!!) for the first time and.. I hear it's where they push a pill up your butt but that's all i know. does it hurt a lot? do i have to take off my clothes?

i'm embarassed about it a lot. do i have to stand up or what do i do? what if i make my cheeks tight together or try to so they cant put it in? what if they put it in and i push it out?

does it make me go to the bathroom the same way or diffferent and longer?

  1. My son had to have those nasty little things, too. Don't worry - in fact, the more you relax, the easier it will be. They will probably have you remove only your pants, then cover you with a paper sheet. You will lie  on your left side and pull your right leg up to your chest. Try to relax. When they are ready to insert, they will probably tell you to breathe out very hard. Takes just one quick second - they will probably keep a glove-covered finger in for just a second longer to make sure it goes up far enough, and tell you to squeeze and hold your buns as they remove it. If you follow their direction, you will not push it out. If the suppository is for chronic constipation, it will make your bowel movements come much more comfortably. You may have to repeat the procedure at home, but it will be with your mom and not a doctor. Try not to worry. I know it sounds like the grossest of gross, but doctors and nurses do this stuff all day long.
