Question:

First time wine drinker!?

So, I am 21 and am just getting into the drinking stage. I don't really like anything unless it's fruity, sweet or sour, and it doesn't taste like alchohol. I really want to try wine because a lot of my friends drink it, but I don't really like what they drink. Can someone suggest a good wine of some sort that fits the description above? Thank you so much!

  1. try a vouvray from France that is labeled as demi-sec. it will have some residual sugar, fruit notes and some acidity. you don't want to drink a lot of anything that is super sugary or you'll have a bad hangover. rose may also be a good choice.

  2. For what you have described, I would recommend you start out with a nice Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio. The Sauv Blanc have a lot of melony flavors along with a light grassy vibe. Don't get frightened of the smell lol. For some great Sauv Blanc's at a good price, pick up some from New Zealand. Since you said you don't want to taste the alcohol as much, I would recommend staying away from reds, at least for now.

  3. There are a lot of fruity alcoholic beverages out there. The best kind are the ones that you dont taste the alcohol in them. You basically want to try daiquiris or margaritas. There are also some other drinks ...here are some to list a few:

Hawaiian Punch: UV Red Vodka and lemonade (this is one of my favorites)

    Screwdriver: Vodka and orange juice

    Pina Colada

    Amaretto Stone Sour

Hope some of these helped you out.

  4. it  is  not  good  to  drink wine  or  beer  cause  it  will  give  you  problems in  your  body like heart attacks  ar  you can have  a baby  and  the  bay  dies

  5. Making wine is an ancient preservation method for fruits.  Preserving food was common everywhere there were seasonal harvests and then long periods on much less food.  Wine is good for you in moderation and delicious.  You can also cook with wines to enhance flavor.

Start with light white wines such as Zinfandel.  Read the labels for the sweet and sour varieties, and go to wine tastings.  Speciality drinks such as Sangria (red or white) mixes wine with fruit for a great flavor.  Just avoid the stuff that is spiked with hard liquor.  Elderberry wine and blackberry wine are sweet and tasty.

    Popular Sweet Wines..............

    ANGELICA

Angelica is a distinctly California type of sweet wine which originated in Southern California and was named in honor of the City of Los Angeles. It is known as a nectar wine because it is made by combining the juices of sweet white grapes with grape brandy. In color it is a light golden, but sometimes becomes the color of topaz. It possesses cordial characteristics and is generally used as an after-dinner drink or is served with sweet refreshments.

In making Angelica the wine makers choose white grapes that are very sweet and thoroughly ripe. Who first made this wine, and when, we do not know, but it was originated at least forty years ago. The general character of Angelica, in which it differs from any other wine, is that it has little or no fermentation. It is simply unfermented grape juice fortified with brandy in sufficient quantity to prevent fermentation. Similar combinations are used as an ingredient in numerous sweet wines of the Mediterranean region such as those of Malaga and the sweet wines of Sicily,

    MUSCATEL

Muscatel is a delicately flavored sweet wine that has a distinct bouquet of the Muscat, which is a leading raisin grape in California. It is made very much as is Angelica except that the Muscat grape is used exclusively, the flavor of this grape being immediately recognized in the wine, which should have a smooth limpid quality.

    German wines

Riesling Auslese is some sweet stuff with Ice Wine being the sweetest natureal (no sugar added) wine.
