Fix my house programs?

How do you apply for the program where they help low income people to fix up the house?

We are very low income family and can't even afford to fix toilet flushing system problem.

Sorry but the demand for such things is VERY high. You might try churches or charities.

For shows like ABC's Extreme Home Makeover, all those people either are devoting themselves to doing work in the community and giving of themselves, or they are in the financial position or have a need by no fault of their own.

Like a soldier injured in Iraq, a policewoman shot and paralyzed saving somebody else, an injured fireman, A man that took in his sister's four kids when she and her husband were shot in random violence, a paramedic paralyzed by a driver T-boning the ambulance when the other inattentive driver didn't see the lights or hear the siren while rushing somebody else to the hospital, or families that spent all their money on medical bills for a child's cancer or some strange disease.

You will want to try to think why it is you deserve to get the benefit of other people's time and money.

Rarely do you just get given things because you need or want them.

Maybe you can learn to do some of these repairs yourself, there is plenty of help out there and here. Then maybe you can earn some money doing it for other people.

The toilet flushing system is very simple and to take the effort and time and resources to apply to repair it will take longer and cost more to fix the toilet. First find out what is wrong by lifting off the cover and inspecting all the parts from the handle. If there is something off it could be clipped in or maybe it is broken and can be fixed. Also plumbing shops will give you advice for free if you speak decently to them and explain with illustration what is wrong. They can also advise you on the best option to repair. If you then want to claim for something because their option is too expensive at least you have done most of the work and know how much you need.
