  1. This could help you out a bit:

  2. Not sure what your asking however i wanted to give it a spin since doing my own laundry space is in the works.  o.k. with my husbands help.I wanted ease and comfort space to do laundry.

So lighting and air is important plus safety.

    Color and a few wants..

music, and comfort and a fun space..

Skip here if you have already listed these suggestions on you plan.

Moisture, ventilation and lighting, safety(smoke detector) is going to be you first priorities to consider.

limited electrical outlets also +if flooding is possible consider safety with plugged in appliances.

is there space for ceiling fans? better than standing fans+plus you can choose one with lighting too.

    A mural?

Wall panels are finished in fabric, eliminating the need for drywall taping or painting.

  3. I've seen this done in the past and it looks really cool (like a loft).

-Put recessed lighting in the rafters (or at least change the pull-string lights that are in most basements)

-Buy a painter sprayer (i.e. a wagner $40 at home depot) and spray the entire ceiling black (or a color of your choice).  Spray everything, all the pipes and everything up in the ceiling.

-paint the walls a different color (use paint the is specifically made for painting concrete).

-hide the metal support poles and beams with some painted wood.  It's inexpensive and easy to build and makes it look a lot better.

-put down new flooring and that's it.

I know it doesn't sound like much but trust me, changing the lighting and improving the appearance of the ugly concrete walls and ceiling makes a HUGE difference.  When I saw the basement done this way the first thing I thought was that it looked like an urban loft.  It's really cheap to do too.

    Good luck!
