Flat Caps...Bend the Brim?!?

Flat caps i always thought people just wore them flat because thats the way the hat is but are you supposed so bend the brim to look like a normal hat or do people just not do it?

people who wear the brims flat look like d-bags.  bend them like normal.

My husband and son always bend them. They look a little Elmer Fudd-ish if they aren't rounded a little.
