Flaw in the technological singularity concept ?

The technological singularity theory states that the last invention man shall conceive is a robot at least as intelligent as him - because then that robot could duplicate itself to accomplish all kinds of tasks.

However, if this robot is as intelligent as the human whom created it, then when assigned a task its logical reasoning could lead him to create a robot for this task - the same would go for the created robot and so forth.

Is there a way to prevent this loop in the technological singularity ?

If the robot created by the robot is as smart as it is, that would be nonsense. No gain would be achieved, so, an intelligent robot would only design robots smarter than it. No loop there.

The robot could also be instructed to solve the given problem on his own unless he is not capable and must resort to design a more intelligent machine.
