Flies in my basement?

For 4 days so far, I've had flies inside my basement near and on the door. My door is a walkout door and i dont know why they are there. There is definately no dead animals in my basement and there is no foul smell, and we just dont know why they are there!please help.

flies come from magets and magets come from dead things, sorry, maybe  a mouse or trash that gets moist

Think about it.....The basement is cool and the flies are probably just hanging out there because it's cool. In the fall you will find them on the door looking for warmth when it is cooler out.

If there's something sweet or sticky around they might be after that... or vinegar...? They are attracted to things other than rotting meat, just clean the area thoroughly (check to make sure it's not the actual cleaning stuff that attracts them first :p).

They probably just came in when you opened the door.  Having flies in your house is rather normal. It doesn't mean anything.
