Flight Tickets to Europe

Question

I need help from frequent travelers to Europe.

My wife and I would like to go to Europe (Romania Bucharest) mid July next year.

I want to find out when is the best time (Month) to to purchase the tickets.

I do understand that prices are subject to change. That is why I am asking because I just got too confused from different flights websites.

Any recommendations please?

In general I agree with The Shadow with one major exception.

I am not sure where you are based but Flight Centre offers a Price Beat guarantee where they promise to beat whatever price you get (including websites).

Note that Flight Centre in USA is called Liberty Travel

There is no "best month" to buy tickets. Prices are set by the date of travel, not the date that you buy your tickets. July is peak season, so traveling then is the most expensive time to go regardless of when you buy your tickets.

Airlines adjust their prices constantly. The fare may be higher in three months. It may be lower (although I doubt it unless the price of oil completely crashes). No one knows. It's like trying to predict whether the stock market will be higher or lower tomorrow.

In general, earlier is better. Airlines restrict the number of discount seats per flight. If you wait too long and the cheapest seats sell out, the price could be much higher. But, there are never any guarantees.

If you find websites confusing, you may want to consider using a travel agent. They'll charge you a service fee, but it's a lot cheaper than s******g up and overpaying for your tickets on the Internet.

Call Apollo Travel in Chicago 312-236-7356. They have an 800 number but sorry I don't know what it is.  They have customers from around the world and they have agents available 24/7. They have consolidation rates with major airlines meaning they can sell you tickets cheaper than you can find online. Plus their agents have incredible expertise. I can't recommend them enough.
