Floor hockey equipment?

Question

My parents won't buy me floor hockey equipments so can i just use a stick and a tennis/whiffle ball? or do you suggest something else without buying the equipment?

Do you have anywhere to play safely? If not, no wonder they won't buy hockey equipment.  They probably don't want the basement getting destroyed.
