Floor model strollers?

i work at a department store and they were throwing out floor model strollers and highchairs and playpens and such. i brought home a stroller and i was wondering if they really are dangerous because theyre " display"

a lot of the people from my work brought home strollers also. do you think its unsafe?

  1. The display models aren't up to the standards that the actual product has to meet. They can't be sold or donated to charity. Be careful. I worked at Target for years, we had an agreement with the manufacturer that the displays would be destroyed when they were no longer floor models.


  2. I don't see why they would be unsafe as long as you checked them first to make sure there are no signs of damage. I have bought floor model items many times and had no problem.

    I can't imagine stores tossing strollers and high chairs out. Maybe you should suggest to the manager that he or she donate them to a charity. Many women can't afford to buy them and they would probably be safer than the very old ones they get at yard sales.

    In response to the post following mine, I have never been told I couldn't purchase a floor model because it wasn't the same as the actual item. I examine those to help me determine whether or not I want to purchase the actual item. I wouldn't buy one that seemed less than perfect.

    That does make a difference. Please make sure that the items your store is disposing of are the same as the ones you are selling. If they aren't, don't trust them.
