i have florida prepaid college plan.

my plan covers 2 yrs community college and 2 yrs university.

i am getting the 75% scholorship (possibly 100%) from bright futures.

if i go straight to a university would i lose all that money???

would i end up paying a lot more???

this is probably going to be my deciding factor. because i can get straight in to a university just fine. i have a good gpa. and good act score. but i dont know.

thanks

  1. With the Florida prepaid and Bright Futures, what will happen is that Bright Futures Scholarship will be applied first then the Florida Prepaid College payment.  Any overpayment will be refunded to you.

You will pay the same tuition no matter how you pay for it whether it is scholarships, loans, Florida prepaid, Bright Futures.

You will not lose any money because the money that was going to go to the two years of community college will just get applied to a university.  But community college tuition is usually cheaper than university tuition.  But if you get Bright Futures then it will most likely still cover all your tuition.
