Flute or clarinet ?

which is better?

im not planning on joining a band or w.e

i just want to play for fun at home and practtice to give me something to do.

im gonna get private lesson but it your oppion which do you like better?

which sounds prettier

and which is easier ?

and if one is harder how much harder? thanks in advance

    but at the time that you mastered already clarinet,

    try the flute

        By reading your answers,  I see that most people are suggesting the clarinet is much easier to play than the flute.  This might be true,  as I don't play the clarinet.   Being that I play flute,  I would say the flute is easier.   So I think that you are getting more of opinions here... by what people play.   Could be,  the clarinet is easier,  but the flute is more practical to play as a solo instrument.   I think more people ask for flutes when playing at church or at weddings.  Also the flute is pitched in the key of C, the same as the piano and that means you can play along with a piano without having to have special music that is in another key.   If you were playing in the school band,  I would say.... choose the one that you think is best... but if you are playing as an individual,  I really think,  you would wind up liking the flute better.
