Food/water at Barcelo Colonial?

Do you do anything special re: food/water while at the Barcelo Colonial to avoid getting sick? I've never been to Mexico and don't know the drill. We are going in August. Thanks.

All water and ice is purified in your resort, so you will have no problem with that.  

The biggest reason people get sick here is from drinking and eating too much and eating buffet food that has been sitting out for hours.  Try to eat when the food is freshly served or at the a la carte restaurants whenever possible.  

In addition, in these hot and humid climates, dehydration is a real issue.  You and your family MUST drink water several times throughout the day, especially if you are also drinking alcohol as that dehydrates you as well.
