could someone list the foods that give the body the most energy. starting in the beginning of the day. no pills or liquids, just good healthy energising food. Thanks

  2. Strictly speaking, calories actually stand for the amount of energy a food provides!

    Healthy things to eat with lots of energy are those that do have higher calories but also other benefits such as lots of vitamins, protein, minerals, fiber and are low in fat and cholesterol.

    I recommend that you look at vegetarian choices... these tend to always meet the requirements above. Now, I do not mean simple tofu and soy, no there is much much more. Middle eastern fare seems to be my favorite. Try making home made falafel (baked) and having it on a pita filled with veggies, hummus, and tahihi.

    You could also try lots of other ethnic foods. Almost every day I eat cuisine from a different continent. You will see that there are so many options out there that are very nutritious. As a girl from an italian family, I can tell you that just this cuisine offers lots of good things. Just remember that olive oil is a great nutritious oil and just avoid pastas that are not whole grain.
