For filipino balikbayans (from the US)

Question

how much US $ do you bring for pocket money say a 4 week vacation? i wanna go back home (1st time after leaving few years ago) and i wanna estimate how much to save up for.. thanks.

ps just for ur basic spending and pasalubong.. exclude trips to resorts/travel to different places or anything like that. do ppl (ur relatives esp) expect that much from u? tnx again

You can just bring $100 cash and use your credit card to buy pasalubong at the Duty Free Shops. Chocolates are enough as your pasalubong. Bring mosquito repellent.

You just need about $100 to bring with you for incidentals and taxi etc.  Use your ATM card at any bank atm in Philippines to withdraw pesos.  The exchange rate will be better that way and it will save you having too much cash on you at one time.  All your relatives will expect something for pasalubong.
