A Cut and paste from an answer on the site, who can do it?

"Now here is it. It also says somewhere in the book of revelations that there would be an ALMOST HALF HOUR OF SILENCE or peace in the heavens (It pertains to the heavens of man, not the heaven above. I forgot what verse did i read it, its somewhere in the books of prophets).

That half hour of peace means the period of time that began in the end of WW1 and the breakout of WW2.

Now how we could say that that half hour is that period, i the transition between those wars are years, it couldnt be a half hour.

Somewhere in the new testament, i forgot the verse again, you could read that A DAY FOR GOD IS EQUIVALENT TO A THOUSAND YEARS FOR MAN. Now lets do some math, a day is divided into 24 hours, so if we do some computations an hour to god is equivalent equivalent to ...... "

Will give 10 points to the first answer, if it is correct (and agreed upon). Please walk us through how you got to the answer! =)

  1. 1000 years = 24 hours

    Divide both sides by 48

    20.833 repeating = 1/2 hour

    Nice little trick.

My personal opinion is to pay attention to the big picture in religion rather   using it to predict the future though.

  2. 1939 - 1918 = 21 years

now find out what 30 God minutes is

    1 God day = 24(60) God min = 1440 God min = 10000 years

    1440God min/30God min = 1000 years/x years

    x = 21 years

  3. If a day for God is 1,000 years for man, then an hour for God is 1000 / 24, or 41 and 2/3rds year for man, and a half an hour for God is a little bit under 21 years.

WW1 ended in November of 1918, and WW2 started in September of 1939, which would correspond pretty closely to a Godly half-hour, if one decided to measure such a thing that way.

    Hope this helps.

  4. 8 765 812.77 hours ..calculator!

  5. 1000/24 = 41 and 2/3 years

That is: "an hour for God" is approximately 41 years and 243 days

But I must point out that "a day" just refers to "a period of time" and can be any period of time.

Most of the bible is metaphors and I don't believe it was ever supposed to be taken literally.  To be completely honest I'm not religious at all, but I was raised in a religious family and my father has multiple degrees in various aspects of religion.  He spends his time translating the bible from ancient greek and hebrew so i have discussed this at length with him.

A lot of the bible tells ways to live life with good morals - which for the most part I agree with.  Notice though how they're stories (parables).  Well when it says God created the world in 6 days and rested on the 7th - those 7 "days" were meant as "periods of time". - saying 1000 years is pointing out that it can be a LONG time, I don't think anyone ever meant it was EXACTLY 1000 years.

Hey what are all the thumbs down for?  Everyone else has the same answer!
