What is the use of codec is can't play a video if I burn it on a CD and play it on TV will it work???if not whatwill I do??

  3. A codec is used by windows medial player.  If you burn a CD, most of the home dvd players won't play it, your dvd player will have to be able to use both cd's AND be made to use windows media player ( it will actually have the windows media player symbol on it).  Hope this helps.
