I got this quote from a fortune cookie a few days ago:

"A man without aim is like a clock without hands, as useless if it turns as if it stands."

What does it mean?

  1. this is just like "a man without an aim is like sailing without a compass"

you're lost, and noting is there to push you forward

when you have an aim meaning dreams and hopes and ideas of what you will do in the future, you can follow those aims and get there

but if you don't even have an aim, then nothing will ever get you there (theres no start to bein with)

so a man is useless without an aim

man meaning both men and women ^^

  2. ur in love

  3. it's somewhat self-explanatory... see you wont find sense in a clock's turning when it cannot tell the time.. meaning: if a man has no aim in what he does, he does nonsense things -his existence is of little or no value to the society.. like he can live and die without the world taking any notice of.

but i don't personally believe in this quote; see, the valuable contributions of many a great man usually see little value during their existence (often times they have been mocked and persecuted for their radical ideas).. and yet their ideas now allow us to live a lot more comfortable lives..
