Fossil fuel and carbon credits?

lets forget about planting trees for a minute and think a bit, how much fuel would be saved by replacing all traffic lights with roundabouts and then give carbon credits to the city/towns that comply,,,, you could even give private enterprise a go at this build a roundabout at a busy intersection and get the carbon credits for your factory

good thinking...but in US most idiots get out in traffic and freeze...iv driven a few in new york and boston...lol...crazy...heII people cant even merge onto hyway with a 500 foot acceleration lane..i see dopes sitting there watching traffic go by

There is a way to realize your project

It´s called "programatic CDM". Google it and you will find about it. It simply consists in implementing a program which will generate emission reductions.

I know that honduras (or Nicaragua?) had a similar program where the road trafic has been improved using carbon credits... this led to less traffic jams, reduced power lost in braking and idling...
