Foster Homes?

i don't know if anyone has asked this question before but i was wondering why foster children get moved from foster home to foster home sometimes. I hear about it happening a lot in movies and books, etc. but i don't know if they are exaggerating it or not.

Is it because people don't want the children to become to attached to the foster parents? or am i getting my information wrong about so many children being moved around?

It is NOT because they dont want children to get attached. Normally the only reason a child is moved around alot is if there is a problem. My Grandma does foster care, and many of the children have been with us since they were put in..and will stay with us till they are out of the system. TV and books make it seem a lot worse than it actually is. Dont get me wrong..im sure there are some children out there who are bounced around a lot..but that is not what the foster care system wants. They want a stable, loving environment for the children.

They are moved if they are having problems in the foster home (like for example teens running away or trying to hurt themselves or others...), they are moved sometimes because of problems with the mother/father.  Sometimes they are moved because of changing in the foster home on how many they are allowed to have there.  There are a few reasons.  It is best if they aren't moved around but some children actually cause problems for their foster parents hoping to be sent away again, usually hoping to be sent to their own parents.

there could be many reasons, behavioral issues, the foster parents decided to stop fostering, new arrangements as new kids have to be accomodated into the system etc.

My husband was in and out of foster homes  and was bounced around alot. In one home, the parents didn't get their check on time, so they asked for him to be removed. In another, he was abused. In another, the foster parent died. There were many more and I don't really want to ask him the reasons why. He was in and out of foster homes and orphanages until he was adopted. Some children are lucky and only have one foster parent until they are returned to their parents. (A member of my church some time ago was a foster parent and those kids only stayed with her until their parents were considered suitable parents again) Some children who are orphaned are not so lucky.
