Found baby mice. Need HELP!!!!!!

Th poor things don't even have their eyes open yet. They can't eat anything solid. They were wandering around my kitchen floor, obviously abandoned by their mother. I can't put them back where I found them because for one I don't want more mice in my house, and for two, my dog kills mice. I don't want to just toss them outside to fend for themselves. What do I do??? Is there a place that will take them in? They are currently in a basket in my kitchen. Can't keep them. Advice please.

The best choice would be to see if there is an emergency vet open near you that can dispatch of them. There is almost no chance they could be raised from this young of an age. Even if they could be they would likely end up being completely unhandlable, and there are plenty of mice needing homes without adding a litter of wild ones to the mix.

Conventionally it is considered humane to place rodents young enough to not have fur in the freezer to die. Whether or not this is suitable to you, is something only you can decide. If they do have fur you'll need to find a vet with a gas chamber to euthanize them, if they make it that long.

You need to find a local rehab centre or wildlife place nearby.

But be warned that baby mice, if they have been truly abandoned- which they may not have been, they could have just 'escaped' from the nest- are very hard to hand rear, so it is best left to the professionals.

I don't know where you are, so I can't say 'there's a shelter five miles away and their number is...'

You'll either have to tell us your location- vague- or do the research yourself, but that's what you're looking for. They may not take baby mice in because of how much care they need, and because wild mice are full of diseases, and because they're not exactly a protected species.
