  1. I run both the FOX 40 and the DHX 5.0 on my M3.

If you can get them cheap do it.

As for the fork it is the smoothest best preforming fork I've raced. Does take some suspension know how to get it dialed in just right. Talk to the fox tech, they have a few different setting they can help you with. I run what is called their (Bootleg Setup).

    I raced on-

    888 WC

    Boxxer WC

    Travis

Fox 40- The fork wins hands down.

    DHX 5.0

Sweet rear shock, just like the fork might take you a bit to get it dialed. But one you do it preforms well.

Shock is adjustable to the point I can race at Deer Valley UT ( pretty rough course)  and change a few setting, air pressure and ride a smooth pedaling course like Sea Otter with the M3 which is not know as a great pedaling bike.

As with and performance fork or shock they will require maintenance depending on riding style and conditions.
