Fox eating chickens?

My nanny lives on a small holding and has chickens that roam freely and that she locks up at night. Unfortunately a fox is picking of the chickens one by one. Any humane ways of solving this problem??? because currently my nan barely leaves the house as she is always protecting the chickens. Thanks

She lives in cornwall by the way

  1. Maybe she can purchase a live-catch trap and trap it with bait inside. She won't have a single chicken left if she doesn't take action!

  2. 2 jack russels,

    1 alpacca, or

Tie fox bait/poisen around the neck of one of the chooks and let it loose.

  3. this is a good idea pot the bottom of the wire that is its cage with cement it will not be able to get through or dig a hole to get the chickens. and put a roof like thing on the top

  4. It might pay for Nan to buy a Meremma dog. They actually form a bond with whatever they are guarding and let nothing come between them and their flock,be it chickens, sheep etc. They were used to keep wolves away. They also form a strong bond with their owner.

  5. Loud barking dogs scare away fox! Not necessarily big just loud, like beagles.

    Also sonic repellents, http://www.pesthelp.co.uk/weshop/Foxes__...

  6. a good oldfashioned fox hunt
