Frankfurt or Munich?

Question

I would like to work in Finance and have noticed that both Frankfurt and Munich have many jobs on offer.

Which city would you recommend ?

Munich is more fun and prettier than Frankfurt.At least you will have lots of fun during the October fest which is unique for Bavaria.

Definately Munich.  Hofbrau Haus and the infamous white sausage is the only thing you need to know.  I have been to both cities and I found Munich to be much more enjoyable.  Lots to see and do.

It all depends... are you career-oriented or fun-loving.  If you are going just there to enhance your career with the international perspective, then Frankfurt is the place to be for business and finance.  If you want to also have fun (enjoy a nice kneipe [pub] with friends after work) and have a more relax and friendly atmosphere, then Munich is the place to be.  I have know of colleagues that have travel to Munich and find the city friendly and open to international cultures.  No one has ever said the same about Frankfurt.

Unfortunately, Munich does not have the choices in financial positions that Frankfurt will have, but it does have a good business base with Siemens being headquarter there.  Regardless where you go, please learn enough of the German language to at least try it.

Fliege is right.  Frankfurt is more of a finance capital, but Munich is a much nicer city.

MUNICH !! the people are nicer in Munich!! Frankfurt would NOT be my 1st choice.

Munich - Frankfurt to ME has lost some of it's charm and is leaning towards a dirty hussle and bussel (?) town. Big red light district. Not to say Munich does not have drawbacks but.............

Hands down München! Es ist der Grossstadt mit Herz!  Frankfurt is cold.

Frankfurt! I stayed there for one week and I LOVED it. I went to Munich also and I got very bored there. From Frankfurt there are ALOT of little day trips you can do. I went to Rotenburg and Winterburg. Love Frankfurt! Frankfurt is great because there is a suburban part of the city and a city part of the city :P

munich is sooooo much fun and it is so beautiful there

frankfurt is pretty cool

when i was there i remeber going threw munich and seeing the mecedes benz cars parked in the building with indiviual rooms it was sooo cool and the mountains

if u ever go u have to go to garmish it is amazing i love it there

pretty easy shred though cuz after three days of first learnig how to snowboard i was able to go down the intermidate coarse down the mountain it wasnt that hard it was soo much fun though

Both cities are great. If you like to work for "Finance" I guess Frankfurt will be the right place, because all the big Banks are located in Frankfurt. Good luck.
