Free MMORPG Online??

Question

What are some good free MMORPG?

I'm looking for something action-based OR something like Runscape/MapleStory

Any suggestions would help!

That is a huge "in general" question-

You should state what you like first.

Some of the good games (in my opinion) You could check out are:

Maplestory~

A 2d platform game, it's kind of like a mario rpg world.

It comes with four classes (thief, warrior, mage, archer), you can choose a sub-class for our class at 30, and 70 I believe.

It does get repetative though.

Space Cowboys~

A 3d shooter game inwhich you fly an air craft |( four types) and basically all you do is quests and blow stuff out of the sky.

You actually dont get to space until way later the game ( or so i'm told). You can get upgrades, skill points, and change your colour.

Shattered galaxy~

I got really addicted to this game, your a commander and you command a squad of units of 6 ( you can can controll more by using skill points.) From infantry, to mobiles ( which all have mythical creature names like pegasus) and aircrafts (bird names like Owl and pelecan.) And the aliens.

You mostly spend time in the training "zoo" until you can get high enough to fight other players. along side comrads. From offense and defense, to laying mines (air and ground) and healing. It's a great strategy mmorpg inwhich you can choose your battles, and yours friends. Oh, did I mention the unit that shoots nukes? :)

Those are really the only free games i liked, notice:"free".

It's hard to find good games that you don't have to pay for.

I have, like you, played Runescape and Maplestory in the past.  I have now quit both games because I didn't find it entertaining anymore.  I only know of two games that you can try out and it's free.

SilkRoad Online:

  This game is like World of Warcraft.  You can level, make money, buy items/equipments, and improve skills like most MMORPG.  The best part about this game, in my opinion, is player versus player.  The graphics are not bad too.  The only things about this game I don't like is lag and you have to put many hours to make a good character (for me at least).  Sometimes, on my internet connection, it lags so bad that I am waiting minutes until I see change.  Usually, in big cities where a lot of people are in, it looks as if I am teleporting.  Some of these things about SilkRoad Online may be different because the last time I played was like a year ago.  I quit because making a good character was taking too much of my time.

Cabal Online

  My friend recommended this game to me, but I never gave it a chance.  You should try it if you want to.  Looks decent from the YouTube video I saw.

The ONLY game I continue to play is Counter Strike 1.6.  It never gets boring.  It's a first-person shooter.  The games costs $10 though and you never have to pay again.  When you get better at this game it becomes fun.

Game is called Perfect World, International Version is coming out in a few days (Sept. 2nd, at 2:00 PM EST US Time). Unlike World of WarCraft (WoW), this game is FREE TO PLAY. WoW costs $15 per month.

* World of WarCraft is no doubt a great game, but it's up to you to decide whether spending $180 pear year on pixelated virtual characters is worth it. Of course WoW has many servers around the world, because it's the most popular MMORPG in the world... Not like you can play 80% of the servers. Perfect World is a new game... Don't expect new games having over 200 servers.

World of Warcraft isn't free, but you can see the enormous gap of game quality between free titles and World of Warcraft.

Many titles like "Perfect World" come and go, usually disappearing into obscurity, because Blizzard made such an almost-perfect game with World of Warcraft.

I mean, WoW always gets 10/10 with me, but some people complain that the characters look cartoonish or silly.

I personally don't see it, but I'm sure after a few hours of playing, you wouldn't even notice.

Sadly, it does cost money to run quality games.

World of Warcraft (last I checked) had over 260 servers, all of which cost thousands of dollars to buy, or hundreds a month to rent.

Add that to the plethora of other costs, and you have quite the bill each month.

They can't cover costs with a one-time income of $20 for the game. They need to continue charging a membership to give you the best possible game.

Anyways, $15 a month is not bad at all. 50 cents a day... A couple hours working at a grocery store would cover that.

In conclusion, If you want to play a quality game, choose World of Warcraft. Anything else is a cheap copy and is doomed to failure. Check back with "Perfect World" in three months.

See if you can even find it.

The best is world of warcraft. If you want to play a mmorpg, don't settle for anything less, even if you do have to pay 15 dollars a month for wow.

WoW of Ragnarok online. If you don't want to play, join a private server :D

Maple story private servers are WAY much better then global. like WAY much better. Ive played global for 2 years and when i started playing private servers, it took over my life(for a few months lol).
