Yes! I travel loads and the best bread ive tried is in FRANCE! especially at 5 /6 am passing by a bakery is a blessing... im drooling now!

Yes !! otherwise, it would not be called French Bread !

anyway, I'm French and live near Provence and people make their bread in very old-fashioned built ovens in old villages and sometimes we have a fete, for 2 days, eating bread we make, with lovely cheeses, dancing  with a band, and drinking best french wine ! what a life ! lol

The French bread that we buy here in the US is not usually from France. This is because if you shipped the bread here it would no longer be fresh and that's really the main principal of French bread: it's freshness. The baguette did however originate in France and is still made daily at any French bakery. Many French families buy a baguette a day (they're a LOT cheaper over there).
