Yep they played something like (though not quite as good) as the game they played against wales in the warmup match.......and as I have been warning the odd carried away nzedder supporter here...(to loads of abuse in the other direction I might add) their defence and their general game that day was simply sublime.

I am not shocked at all that they won.

I have been saying they would do so all week and since the tournament started - that they are a serious threat to anyone.

depends on how you you look at it.... how much was the english referee paid to help the french..... what was the odds on both new zealand and austrailia  being put out of the world cup?? .......... just another fix......

A great defence indeed and as a french supporter, I both feared a try in the last minutes and was amazed at the powerful pack displayed  by the Black. To be fair, I did not bet even a farthing on a French victory. But that particular game illustrates one clear point:

There are two ways to winning a game:

1- by playing and scoring tries. Never the Blacks stopped playing, and never did before. A quality that has earned them so much praise and envy worldwide. But it works only if you can create breaches, gaps and exploit it. It's an attacking team winning over a defending team...

but "dominer n'est pas gagner" (dominating is not winning), therefore the second option

2- by kicking. Adding 3 points again and again is everything but nice to watch. That's very efficient though and Wilkinson is the man that can do it again and again and again.

Now I must confess, I am sad for the Black for they truly are the best side in the world. I'm sure 2011 will be very different.

well said 'pelayo' I have nothing more to add only that you could have heard a pin drop at our house seemed like the whole of NZ stood still right till the last turn over.
