Question:

French open player analysis?

After nearly 4 days of play I have chosen to ask some questions about the play of some of the players I have seen.

Firstly, Only s.Williams looked comfortable in the first round of the womens (top 5 players)

Secondly,This came to my notice firstly 3 years ago and still nothing has changed-I am talking about Gail Monfils. He clearly is a very talented player-But why does he play so far behind the base-line? For such an incredible athelete surely its not neccessary. If his ranking is anything to go by, It hasn't brought him succcess-Who coaches him?

Thirdly, Sharapova and Ivanovic looked very one-dimensional. The former in particular only knows how to play one way-powerAs world number one and a semi-finalist last year What are her chances of winning this year?-I think little.

I am watching Murray playing brilliant tennis against Acacuso, But why does he try and be so tactical? He has the talent just to come out and play and still conserve energy-so why does he do it? What do u Think?

  1. I personally don't think much of Murray. All these commentators hype him up sooooooooooo much..., you know 'He's one of the top five fastest players on court' etc. He is not slow around the court but neither is he rapid by any means.

I think his fitness should still be in question and his hitting is not exceptional. What i mean is that you can look at the Nadal forehand and say, 'woah, that's a monster' or say the same for the Roddick serve, etc but there's nothing outstanding about Murray.

Gael Monfils also is very hyped. For two years, all i hear is how good a player he is and how he's ready to destroy people. I saw him yesterday for the second time and he still doesn't strike me as brilliant. But true, he does have a lot of potential.

I was really looking forward to seeing Tipsarevic ( took Federer to five sets in the australian open remember) but he's not here. I think that he would have had a lot of potential. Also, where is Jo-Wilfried Tsonga? I already miss him.

The match that i think we are all looking forward to seeing is the Djokovic versus Nadal match if all things go to plan. Djokovic has experience, confidence and a new forehand, and Nadal is in obvious blistering form on clay. Gonna be a tough match.
