French restaurant in New York City..?

Question

This is probably a shot in the dark - but worth a try. My boyfriend and I are planning on going to New York City for my birthday in July (I am turning 30). He said that he read about this french restaurant that an old school french woman runs and cooks fantastic, no-fuss, french food.

The place is suppose to be amazing - unfortunately, he doesn't remember the name.

If anyone knows anything - or if this sounds remotely familiar please respond.

Could be this place -- but I haven't been there in a long time  15 years or so and I would say it wa good but not amazing.

I have been to Le Gigot on Conrnelia street an can recommend that one.

Just go to menupage.com and check out fRENCH and all the reviews I dont kno ur budget but check it out Auvior
