  1. Angel fish are very pretty and easy to take care of, and are low maintenance. If you do not want to have to clean your tank that often do no buy goldfish because they are very dirty fish. Guppies are also very pretty and bright fish and are easy to take care of, there is also another small fish I'mm not sure what they are called but they appear to be see through with a bright colored line going through them. If you want a fish that will help clean your tank there is i'm not for sure what the real name is but i've always heard them called sucker fish they are not very pretty though or you could consider snails.

  2. id go with

    1-male betta

    2-otto cats

  3. maybe like 4 neon tetra or like 2 guppies. thats all you can fit, a ten gallon  is better its like 11 bucks at petsmart. and the you can put more fish. Or you can put one betta

  4. you cannot fit much in a 5 gallon.

small shoaling fish like neon tetras need far more swimming space, at least a 10 gallon but 15 gallons or more are better. livebearers like guppies are also pretty active and should be in a 10 gallon minimum. as for angelfish, these need a 30 gallon high minimum, definitely NOT a 5 gallon! and avoid "sucker" fish, all are either too big, in the case of Chinese Algae eaters, too aggressive and too big, and as for the small otocinclus, needs to be in groups of 3-4 or more and actually needs 10-15 gallons minimum that's at least 6 months old. you do not NEED any animal that eats algae so don't let a store con you into buying anything that does!

for a 5 gallon, once it's fully cycled, and it's filtered and heated, a single male betta would work and are a good beginner fish, available in many colours. decorate the tank with tall plants (either live or silk, not plastic) and if you feel it must have a tankmate (they don't desire company) consider a single apple snail, also available in several colours.
