Fried rockford amp?

I had a 1000 watt RF amp hooked up to my two 12 Dual 12's (1200 watts) and it worked fine for quite awhile but one day I was driving home smelled smoke looked back smoke was rollin out the trunk from the amp unhooked it right away.

How likely is it I can have this fixed?

How much do you think it would cost me?

  1. if your lucky you may have only fried the wiring...off of the top of my head though i dont know how mush it would be to fix the amp... it may just be cheaper to buy a new or remanufactured one

  2. Rockford is pretty good about fixing stuff, they'll charge about 100 dollars or so, it'll jst take them 6 weeks to get it back to you.

  3. If  your amp was on fire, you should just plan on getting another one, because it would not be smart to keep using something that caught on fire. It would cost you more to fix the whole burned circuit board, than to get another amp, that may be even stronger, and make the bass louder.
