Friends of first day of school?

well I'm a boy and kinda quiet. i wanna be outspoken in high school but I'm nervous. what should i do? i was thinking just sit next to someone and say hi...what video games do you have..what sports do you play...but I'm quiet so i need the courage to actually say that.......any help?

In high school you don't talk about video games. It will make you look like a younger kid, which you aren't. Sports are good. I usually start a conversation with someone by asking them a question like "what's your name" and we go on from there

Just say "Hey, my names .... do you like video games?" If they do just talk like you would to anyone.

if our in high school now, dont be having convos with ppl about video games... unless your some kind of geek.  if u like girls and if your cute (yes you have to be both) sit next to a girl and talk to her and dont be creepy about it.

Ah, I have the same problem too, but I found hanging out with my friends in large groups is helping me to open up easily.

High self confidence helps too :)

But, I start my Freshman year next Monday, which I'm really avoiding, because four other schools go into our highschool [lol] and I don't want to lose my friends!

I plan on joining EVERY club I find interest in.

And sitting by a bunch of random kids in class ;)
